Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)

Contract Type: Flexible, bank staff (day-to-day / short-term cover)

Salary: GBP100 - GBP115 per day (depending on experience and assignment)

About the Role

We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join our supply bank in Wakefield. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible working arrangements while supporting a variety of schools across the local area. As a member of our supply bank, you will be available to work on a day-to-day or short-term basis, covering staff absences and supporting pupils in classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assist with classroom organisation and general learning activities
  • Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring inclusion and progress
  • Adapt quickly to new school environments and routines
  • Promote positive behaviour and a safe, respectful atmosphere for all learners
Person Specification
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to respond to short-notice requests
  • Passionate about supporting children’s education and wellbeing
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Experienced in working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
  • Hold a Level 2 / 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable, but not essential)
  • Hold a valid Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one)
