Job Title: Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Newham
Salary Range: £90 - £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Are you enthusiastic about supporting children in their learning journey, especially when it comes to phonics? GSL Education needs an ambitious Teaching Assistant with phonics experience to join a dynamic school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact while contributing to the development of young learners.

Responsibilities of the TA:

  • Support students with various needs, specifically in delivering phonics interventions.
  • Implement group phonics sessions using the Ruth Miskin Read Write Inc phonics program.
  • Work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to enhance students' reading and literacy skills.
  • Lead small group interventions to reinforce phonics learning and phonemic awareness.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage with phonics and develop a love for reading.

Requirements of the TA:

  • SEN experience, particularly with children who have additional learning needs.
  • Phonics experience and a strong understanding of how to support early reading development.
  • Familiarity with the Ruth Miskin Read Write Inc phonics program.
  • Ability to deliver group interventions and adapt strategies to meet students’ individual needs.
  • A resilient and proactive personality, with a passion for helping children succeed.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Competitive daily rate.
