Job summary

Springside Special School in Rochdale invites applications for two Teaching Assistant Level 1+ roles on a temporary contract. The post involves 32.5 hours per week during term time plus 1 week, with duties across Nursery to Year 6 and across Springside sites as required.

You will support learners with significant needs, promoting safety, inclusion and active participation, while fostering a warm, collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at A*-C, or GCSE 4-9, or Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Level 2 Qualification QCF in Teaching and Learning (or NVQ prior to 2010).
• Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
• Willingness to work towards required qualifications.
• Experience supporting learners with special educational needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with complex needs across Nursery–Year 6.
• Provide encouragement, reassurance and practical support throughout the day.
• Work across Springside sites as required.
• Promote positive engagement and inclusion in learning activities.
