Job summary

Dartford Bridge Community Primary School is seeking two Teaching Assistants to join our friendly, inclusive team on a fixed-term basis until 31st August 2027. One TA will work in Nursery and the other in Year 3, supporting pupils with SEND and helping them access learning.

Responsibilities

• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise pupils at break/lunchtimes as required.

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 12.30am -3.30pm (Nursery) & Monday - Friday 10.00- 1.00pm (Year 3)

Salary: £9,501 Actual (£25,168 FTE)

About the Role

We have an opportunity for two caring, committed and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our friendly and inclusive school community on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis. Under the supervision of the class teachers’, one position will be working in our Nursery Class and the other in our Year 3 Class.

This role would particularly suit someone with experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who is passionate about helping every child to succeed. We are seeking someone who recognises and celebrates each child’s unique strengths, understands the importance of tailored support and is dedicated to helping pupils grow in confidence, independence and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in class, small groups or individually, ensuring they are engaged and able to access learning.
• Assisting the class teacher in preparing resources, organising the learning environment and supporting behaviour expectations.
• Promoting positive relationships, emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Supporting pupils with additional needs under the direction of the teacher or SENCO.
• Helping to create a safe, purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervising pupils at break/lunchtimes as required.

• Has some experience working with children with SEND
• Is enthusiastic, patient and able to build positive relationships with children.
• Demonstrates high expectations for pupil behaviour and learning.
• Can work effectively as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher.
• Uses initiative, flexibility and a problem‑solving approach in the classroom.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and safer working practices.
• Has good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
