Job summary

Carlton CofE Primary School seeks a Part-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to support pupils in our Year 3/4 class and beyond. You will work with a friendly, dedicated team to provide targeted interventions and help children progress in a nurturing environment.

The role supports flexible teaching across the school, promoting collaboration and positive relationships with pupils. Start date is 2 November 2026 or as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification/experience
• Experience of working with children with SEND
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4+
• Caring, positive and enthusiastic approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a school team

Responsibilities

• Based in Year 3/4 classroom supporting a class of 21 children alongside the class teacher
• Work flexibly across the school providing targeted interventions
• Build positive relationships with children and contribute to their learning and development
• Deliver supportive interventions to help every child make progress

We arelooking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our happy and dedicatedteam from 2nd November 2026 or as soon as possible.

About the role

You willprimarily be based in our Year 3/4 classroom, supporting a class of 21wonderful children alongside the class teacher.

At ourschool, Teaching Assistants are valued members of the whole-school team. We donot have ‘velcro 1-to-1 TAs’. Instead, our Teaching Assistants workflexibly across the school, supporting children with a range of needs anddelivering targeted interventions to help every child make progress.

This isan exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, buildingpositive relationships with children and making a real difference to theirlearning and development.

We are looking for someone whohas:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistantqualification/experience
• Experience of working withchildren with SEND
• GCSE Maths and English atGrade 4 or above (or equivalent), in line with our requirements
• A caring, positive andenthusiastic approach to supporting children
• The ability to workeffectively as part of a supportive school team

Desirable

It wouldbe particularly beneficial if you also have a Nursery Nurse or EYFSqualification, as there may be opportunities to support our EYFS unitwhen needed.
