Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in Liverpool to work in a secondary school environment. The role is day-to-day with long-term opportunities for the right candidate. You will support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4, helping them stay engaged in lessons and improving behaviour.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months UK secondary education experience, strong communication skills, and a calm, resilient approach. PAYE payroll and 24/7 consultant support are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience working within a UK secondary education setting.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people aged 11 to 16.
• Experience with challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Calm, resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students to remain engaged in lessons and promote positive behaviour.
• Deliver targeted interventions for pupils who require additional behavioural, pastoral or academic support.
• Work alongside classroom teachers across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to assist learning.

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

The schools are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a day-to-day basis, with long-term opportunities available for the right Teaching Assistant. The successful Teaching Assistant will work alongside classroom teachers across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to remain engaged in lessons, promoting positive behaviour, and delivering targeted interventions for pupils who require additional behavioural, pastoral or academic support. Experience working with students displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEND would be highly beneficial.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• At least 6 months' experience working within a UK secondary education setting
