Southmead Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract from 7 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. The role is 30 hours per week over 38 weeks (term time only), 8:30–3:15, with a break for morning and lunch breaks.
The hourly rate is £13.47–£13.69 (FTE £25,989–£26,403, pay award pending). The successful candidate will support pupils in KS2, work in small groups or 1:1, and may cover class duties for qualified staff. DBS check is required.

The Headteacher and Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to support pupils with their learning in our Key Stage 2 classes. We are looking for a motivated team player ideally with experience of working with children with a range of needs both individually and in small groups. A positive and encouraging attitude is essential, as is kindness, patience and an ability to use your initiative. The role will include some small group interventions and may include some class cover for suitably qualified candidates. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve.
