Job summary

Southmead Primary School in London is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2. The post is fixed term from 7 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, 28.75 hours per week across 38 weeks (term time only) 8:30–3:15, with hourly rate £13.47–£13.69.

Candidates should have Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent, experience with children and delivering 1:1 or small group interventions, and GCSE English/Maths at grade C or above.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and/or with additional needs.
• Experience delivering 1:1 and/or small group interventions.
• Ability to set clear and consistent boundaries.
• Positive, encouraging attitude with kindness and patience.
• Willingness to learn and undertake CPD.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Teaching and Learning Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning in Key Stage 2 classes.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
• May cover class teaching for suitably qualified candidates.
