Job summary

Think FE Ltd in Northamptonshire is seeking a Teaching and Innovation Coach - SEND to support curriculum teams and teaching staff, with a focus on inclusive practice and learners with SEND.

You will coach and mentor teaching staff to develop engaging, innovative approaches and share best practices to raise teaching quality across the college.

Qualifications

• A Level 5 teaching qualification such as a PGCE, CertEd or equivalent.
• A Level 3 SEND qualification.
• Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and SEND best practice.
• Experience supporting or developing teaching staff.
• Excellent coaching, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Coaching/mentoring qualification would be advantageous.

Teaching and Innovation Coach - SEND

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £36,217 - £43,197 per annum

Contract: Fixed term until July 2027

Interviews: Week commencing 26 October 2026

Annual Leave: 44 days

Pension: Teachers' Pension Scheme - 28.68% employer contribution

We are recruiting for a Teaching and Innovation Coach - SEND to join a forward-thinking further education college in Northamptonshire.

This is not a student-facing teaching role. Instead, you will work closely with curriculum teams and teaching staff to enhance teaching, learning and assessment across the college, with a particular focus on inclusive practice and supporting learners with SEND.

The role

You will:

• Coach and support teaching staff to develop more inclusive, engaging and innovative practice
• Work with curriculum teams to improve teaching and learning for diverse groups of learners

• Share best practice, practical techniques and new approaches to teaching

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced education professional with strong knowledge of SEND and effective teaching practice. You will ideally have:

• A Level 5 teaching qualification such as a PGCE, CertEd or equivalent
• A Level 3 SEND qualification
• Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and SEND best practice
• Experience supporting or developing teaching staff
• Excellent coaching, communication and relationship-building skills
• A recognised coaching or mentoring qualification, such as ILM Coaching and Mentoring, Train the Trainer or similar, would be a significant advantage.
