We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary school with a strong sense of community and high expectations for both pupils and staff. They’re looking for a Teacher of Design and Technology with a Textiles specialism to join their team from January or February through to the end of the academic year.

This is a school that values practical learning, real‑world skills, and giving students the confidence to create, experiment, and problem‑solve. The DT department is well‑resourced and collaborative, with a real appetite for fresh ideas and subject passion.

What the role looks like
  • Teaching Design and Technology with a clear focus on Textiles across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging, hands‑on lessons that inspire creativity
  • Supporting students of mixed abilities to develop both technical skills and independence
  • Working closely with a supportive department and wider staff team
Who they’re keen to meet
  • A strong Textiles specialist who knows their subject inside out
  • Qualified teachers are welcome, but the school is open‑mind and happy to consider non‑qualified teachers with solid subject expertise and classroom confidence
  • Someone positive, organised, and keen to get stuck into school life
  • A teacher who enjoys building relationships and helping young people thrive
Why this role works
  • Long‑term stability from January or February through to July
  • Supportive leadership and a clear behaviour policy
  • Well‑equipped DT facilities and students who enjoy creative subjects
  • A chance to make a real impact without committing to a permanent post just yet
What you’ll get through Protocol Education
  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff
  • Free access to our online CPD Academy
  • A dedicated consultant who actually listens
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings

If you’re a Textiles specialist looking for a fresh challenge, or you’ve got the industry experience and want to bring it into the classroom, this could be a brilliant fit.
