Resourcery Group are recruiting on behalf of €600m t/o business based in Merseyside who are seeking a commercially-astute UK Tax Manager to operate in a standalone UK role.

The business promotes autonomous working but also offers support from a Group Head of Tax. As UK Tax Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of UK tax operationally, whilst also having the opportunity to input into strategic decision-making. You will support the group tax function and have exposure to all senior decision makers across the organisation.

Our client is looking to bring on board an experienced UK Tax Manager, either a first time mover from a Big 4 or Top Tier practice background or an industry-experienced Tax Manager with knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation, transfer pricing, and HMRC investigations. Applicants must be proactive, technically excellent, and operationally hands-on, capable of driving and delivering change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire corporate tax lifecycle, which encompasses the review and submission of tax returns, administration of group reliefs, management of quarterly instalment payments, and oversight of loan relationships.
  • Direct transfer pricing reviews and documentation processes, ensuring compliance with BEPS and UK regulations.
  • Oversee responses to HMRC investigations and inquiries, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Support and manage corporate tax audits, R&D claims, and associated documentation.
  • Provide strategic advice on corporate restructuring, including group reorganizations, refinancing, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
  • Collaborate with various functions on transactional projects, including tax due diligence and business structuring.
  • Offer insights on optimizing legal structures, managing tax risks, and ensuring effective governance.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and external advisors to address complex tax matters.
  • Align tax strategies with overarching business objectives to enhance commercial success.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to provide clear, actionable insights on the tax implications of key decisions.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the finance or tax team as the function grows.
  • Foster collaboration with Audit, Accounts, and Legal teams to ensure precise and compliant tax reporting.
