Our client is investing heavily in automation, smarter data and digital control, and the Systems Technician will be right at the centre of this. You’ll help keep critical infrastructure running, strengthen operational resilience and support the rollout of modern ICA and control systems across the network.

  • Electric company car
  • Up to 10% employer pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday plus a volunteering day
  • Healthcare cashback, life assurance and mental wellbeing support
  • Perk-based rewards, share schemes and financial coaching
  • Clear progression routes into senior ICA and OT roles
  • Full training and development for both experienced technicians and those growing into the field
What you’ll be doing
  • Maintaining, diagnosing and upgrading SCADA, instrumentation, telemetry and control systems.
  • Responding rapidly to technical issues to keep essential services running smoothly.
  • Working with operators and engineers to improve plant control and operational reliability.
  • Supporting new ICA system rollouts and ensuring consistent standards across sites.
  • Advising on system upgrades, replacements and opportunities for innovation.
  • Supervising contractors, mentoring apprentices and promoting engineering best practice.
  • Taking part in a 1-in-6 standby rota to provide 24 / 7 technical resilience.
What we’re looking for
  • A BTEC Diploma or equivalent in a technical discipline, or a time-served apprenticeship.
  • At least two years’ experience with control systems or SCADA (utilities or process industries ideal but not essential).
  • Confident with Windows OS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with telemetry, PLCs, industrial communications or distributed control systems.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
  • Someone who takes initiative, enjoys solving problems and thrives with autonomy.
