Job summary

Ferrovial Construction UK seeks an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to support major UK infrastructure projects, based at Heathrow Airport. You will work with the Environmental Manager and project teams to drive environmental compliance and embed best practices across site operations.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s qualification in an environmental, sustainability, construction, engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
• Proactive mindset with ownership and value addition to the team.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving in fast-paced site environments.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage workloads, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Genuine interest in environmental management and continuous improvement within construction.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of how environmental performance supports project delivery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of environmental objectives in line with policy and client requirements.
• Undertake site assurance visits to monitor compliance and close-out actions.
• Promote continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability performance across teams.
• Translate environmental requirements into practical site controls.
• Prepare Environmental Management Plans and Site Waste Management Plans.
• Support briefings, toolbox talks and communication strategies for site teams.
• Monitor activities against standards and commitments; compile dashboards and reports.
• Assist with audits, investigations and lessons learned.
• Provide practical advice on environmental requirements and promote innovation.
• Develop and maintain performance measurement systems and reporting tools.
