Job summary

Ferrovial Construction seeks an Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead environmental and carbon management across Heathrow projects. The role anchors sustainability from design through handover, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and UK legislation.

You will manage EMPs, SWMPs and carbon reporting, guiding teams and subcontractors while embedding low-carbon strategies and biodiversity initiatives on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an environmental and sustainability management role within construction, infrastructure or major project delivery.
• Strong working knowledge of UK environmental legislation and environmental management systems.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements on projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental and sustainability management across Heathrow projects, ensuring compliance and PMS requirements.
• Develop Environmental Management Plans, SWMPs, carbon and energy management arrangements.
• Provide leadership to project teams, designers, engineers and procurement on environmental matters.
• Ensure environmental controls are incorporated into work planning, permits and risk assessments.
• Monitor KPIs such as waste diversion, carbon emissions, energy use and biodiversity.
