Job summary

Ferrovial Construction is seeking a site-based Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor for the Heathrow Project. You will support the Environmental & Sustainability Manager, ensuring environmental controls are implemented and sustainability requirements are met across the site.

You will work with the design team to confirm carbon reduction opportunities and ensure compliance with environmental standards, reporting to senior stakeholders and mentoring junior team members on environmental

Qualifications

• Strong experience in an environmental and sustainability role within the construction, infrastructure or major projects sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of environmental and sustainability challenges within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Environmental Manager in delivering environmental and sustainability requirements across the Heathrow Project.
• Monitor environmental compliance across site activities and documentation, and assist with audits and assurance activities.
• Develop and deliver environmental briefings, communications and awareness initiatives.
• Collaborate with designers, project teams and supply chain partners to identify carbon reduction and sustainability opportunities.
• Prepare environmental performance reports for senior stakeholders and maintain monitoring systems.
