Job summary

Ferrovial Construction Heathrow is seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead the environmental, carbon and sustainability strategy across Heathrow works. The role is site-based and will embed environmental requirements from design through to handover, working with project teams and suppliers.

You will drive carbon reduction, resource efficiency and sustainable procurement, while ensuring compliance with ISO 14001/50001 and PAS 2080.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental and sustainability management within construction, infrastructure or major projects.
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and environmental controls.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 on projects or operations.
• Understanding of PAS 2080, carbon management, and carbon reporting.
• Ability to prepare EMPs, SWMPs, carbon reports and sustainability briefs.
• Strong communication to influence site teams, clients and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental and sustainability management across Heathrow projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and UK legislation.
• Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans and carbon management requirements.
• Embed carbon reduction, resource efficiency and sustainability into design and construction activities.
• Provide technical support to project managers, designers, engineers and procurement teams on environmental matters.
• Ensure environmental controls are integrated into work plans, permits and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with Heathrow, regulators and consultants for permits and approvals.
• Lead environmental inspections, audits and assurance activities, ensuring actions are closed.
• Monitor KPIs on waste diversion, emissions, energy and biodiversity; report to management.
