Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) – Cumnock

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and flexible support worker to assist a young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the Cumnock area. This part‑time role involves providing companionship, ensuring safety and supporting his daily life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide social support and companionship within the local community.
  • Ensure the young man’s safety at all times.
  • Assist with communication and help him express needs and feelings.
  • Manage anxiety and associated behaviours and provide consistent support.
  • Administer medication when required and monitor health.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience supporting young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and management of associated seizures.
  • Full, clean driver’s licence, own vehicle and ability to provide business insurance.
  • Willingness to drive for work duties; mileage allowance will be paid.
  • Experience with medication administration is essential.
Other Details

Hours: Flexible, with occasional overnight shifts; approx. 4 hours per week. ROP: £12.60 per hour. This position is subject to a 6‑month probationary period.

Successful applicants shall provide two references (one being your current or most recent employer) and undergo a New PVG Disclosure at the employer’s cost.
