Job summary

The Housing Network in Aylesbury is seeking compassionate Bank Support Workers to assist residents with complex needs. The role offers flexible 8-hour bank shifts and focuses on trauma-informed, person-centred support to help individuals regain independence and stability.

You will build trusting relationships, deliver 1:1 sessions, and support with tenancy matters and access to specialist services, while prioritising safeguarding and wellbeing within the community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or families with complex needs.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and create outcome-focused support plans.
• Willingness to work flexible bank shifts and adapt to variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to residents with complex needs.
• Deliver 1:1 support sessions and signpost to specialist services.
• Assist residents with tenancy matters, benefits and independent living skills.
• Manage a caseload to ensure appropriate support levels and safeguarding.

Bank Support Worker (Complex Needs) – Aylesbury

£13.45 per hour | Flexible 8-Hour Shifts

As we continue to grow, we're looking for compassionate and experienced Support Workers to join our bank team and help people rebuild their lives and achieve greater independence.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing trauma-informed, person-centred support to residents with complex needs
• Building trusting relationships and creating outcome-focused support plans
• Delivering 1:1 support sessions, interventions, and signposting to specialist services
• Supporting residents with tenancy-related matters, benefits, and independent living skills
• Managing a caseload effectively to ensure residents receive the right level of support
• Promoting safeguarding and wellbeing for residents, colleagues, and the wider community

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, families, or people with complex needs
• Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour, or related support services
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others achieve positive outcomes
• A proactive, resilient, and empathetic approach

Application Question(s)

• Do you have experience providing support to individuals who are homeless / at risk of homelessness?
• Do you have experience providing support residents to manage their finances, facilitating appointments with specialist mental health, drug and alcohol services?
• This role is bank shift's , which means you will be on a pipeline list and would need to be flexible. Is this suitable?
• As the role is bank, you would require an Enhanced Children & Adults DBS on the update service. Can you confirm if you have a DBS on the update service?

Experience

• Providing trauma informed suppory: 1 year (preferred)
• Providing housing benefit support: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification
