Job summary

The Housing Network (THN) in Oxford is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join a brand-new service. This mobile role requires you to drive between sites and provide trauma informed, strength-based support to residents facing homelessness.

You will work 20 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £29,000 per annum, complete initial plans within 48 hours of move-in, deliver 3 hours of resident support, and move-on plans within two weeks as you progress over 3–6 months.

Qualifications

  • Essentials: VOIDs – turn around as quickly as is reasonably possible by supporting residents to clear their rooms and liaising with maintenance and cleaners.
  • You will be responsible for delivering 3 hours of support per resident.
  • You must complete initial support plan and risk assessment within 48 hours of move-in.
  • You will deliver comprehensive support & move-on plans within 2 weeks, and work towards this goal over the next 3-6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Providing strength based and trauma informed support, building trusting relationships with residents and creating meaningful (outcome focused) support plans.
  • Providing 1:1 support sessions, interventions and signposting to help residents gain independence.
  • Manage a caseload of residents in an effective way to ensure all residents receive and engage with appropriate amounts and types of support for their needs.
  • Support residents to understand and complete tenancy documentation, understand their benefits and identify knowledge gaps which can be added into support plans for future engagement.
  • Uphold high levels of safeguarding awareness and protection for individuals, residents, colleagues and the wider community.

  • Looking for an opportunity to use your skills, experience and commitment to transform the lives of highly vulnerable people
  • Experienced working with individuals who are homeless or facing homelessness, engaged with probation, and moving on from services such Community Accommodation Service (CAS), Approved Premises accommodation (AP) etc.

This is a mobile role and you will be expected to drive between sites around Oxford.

Work closely with our partners including drug & alcohol services to deliver holistic support.

Support the Service Manager to review and assess referrals.
