A supportive care organization in Watford seeks a friendly and patient Support Worker to assist an individual with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). The role involves personal care, meal preparation, and planning outings, requiring a UK driving license and business insurance. The current hourly rate for this position is £12.31, rising to £12.64 per hour from 1st November.
(You must be available for all shift types, including alternate weekends.)

We’re looking for a friendly, patient, and proactive Support Worker to assist a gentleman in his 30s to live life on his terms, with independence and confidence.
You’ll be supporting a kind individual who shares a love for:
Some days he’s excited to get out and explore; on others, he may need a little more time and encouragement. You’ll be someone who understands this and knows how to gently support him through the ups and downs, always respecting his choices.
He has a diagnosis of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), which means everyday tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming. He might use delay tactics or distractions to avoid tasks. That’s where your patience and calm encouragement will make all the difference.
Seeing his confidence grow and watching him accomplish things, big or small, is one of the most rewarding parts of this role.
