Job summary

Acuity Care Group is hiring a Support Worker in Southampton to provide 1:1 support for a nonverbal individual living at home with his family. Full training and close teamwork are provided to ensure compassionate, reliable care.

The role requires patience, kindness, and willingness to learn the client’s unique communication cues; training is fully funded and conducted by Acuity Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-verbal communication, or complex needs is helpful but not essential.
• You should be kind, patient, caring, reliable, consistent and confident in your role
• Willing to learn his specific communication cues.
• Comfortable working within the family home
• Able to work as part of a small, stable team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a nonverbal Polish individual living at home.
• Learn and respond to his communication cues.
• Deliver round-the-clock care in coordination with a small team.

Summary

Support Worker

Pay rate: £14.50

Shift Pattern: 8:00- 17:00

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our dedicated team, providing 1:1 support to a vibrant yet nonverbal Polish who lives at home with his wife and kids in Sholing.

He is now living with a brain injury after a stroke and requires round-the-clock care, delivered by a consistent and understanding team. He is non-verbal, and his support workers will learn to recognise and respond to his unique communication cues. Full training will be provided.

This is a rewarding role supporting a gentleman who brings a lot of happiness, warmth, and personality to those around him.
