Job summary

Acuity Care Group is seeking a compassionate female support worker to assist a gentleman in his late 30s living with a spinal injury. You will provide full daily living support, including personal care and bowel management, in a home shared with his wife and infant.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and ongoing use of assistive communication devices. The position involves 1:1 care on a 36-hour schedule across weekdays and weekends with waking nights.

Qualifications

  • A caring, patient, and reliable individual.
  • Experience with complex care (including spinal injury and bowel care) is desirable but training can be provided.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality 1:1 support tailored to individual needs.
  • Assisting with all aspects of daily living, including personal care and bowel care management.
  • Assisting with routine household tasks to maintain a calm and organised home environment.
  • Encouraging and enabling participation in meaningful activities at home and in the community.

Job description

Pay rate: Weekdays £14.00 days, and Weekdays Nights £14.50, Weekend Nights & Days £14.50

Contract: 1 x 36hrs on both days and waking nights (Monday to Sunday)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated female support worker to assist a gentleman in his late 30s who is living with a spinal injury and is paralysed from the chest down. He is a clear communicator and uses an eye-gaze device for typing emails and messages. Full support is required with all aspects of daily living, including personal care and bowel management.

You will be working in a well-adapted home where he lives with his wife and their 8-month-old baby. They are a fun-loving family with a great sense of humour who enjoy spending quality time together. They also have a passion for hobbies such as shooting and visiting local attractions.

Responsibilities:

Experience and Skills of a Support Worker
  • A caring, patient, and reliable individual
  • Experience in complex care (including spinal injury and bowel care – desirable but training can be provided)
  • A positive attitude and a good sense of humour
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
