Job summary

Potens Group invites applications for a Waking Night Support Worker in our residential service in Port Talbot. We offer £13.00 per hour, 30 hours per week, and a contributory pension, with development opportunities through NVQ qualifications and internal leadership sessions.

We operate in a supportive, safeguarding-focused environment. You will work 1-1 or 2-1 with young adults who have learning disabilities, building positive relationships, promoting wellbeing and helping them live more

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to work 1-1 and 2-1 with individuals.
  • Promote wellbeing and community involvement.
  • Comfort with personal care as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or two-on-one support to individuals.
  • Promote wellbeing and independence through daily activities.
  • Develop community links and access leisure opportunities.
  • Respect privacy and maintain safeguarding standards.

Job description

We are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Waking Night Support worker in our residential service in Port Talbot.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Currently, we have young adults with learning disabilities.
  • You will be supporting 1-1 and at times 2-1.
  • Continue to promote positive well-being.
  • Participate and be as enthusiastic about their likes and wants as they are.
  • Maintain and develop their community links, and access community and leisure pursuits to support their independent living and life skills.
  • Personal care may be involved.
Who you are:
  • Able to work independently, multitask, organise and prioritise work to suit the people we support.
  • Exceptional at building relationships and influencing at all levels, internal and external.
  • Ability to execute and deliver, whilst keeping a positive attitude under pressure
  • Quick learner, hands-on, willing to be flexible in tasks and activities.
  • Flexible - shift will be on a rota basis and can include days/evenings and waking nights when required
  • Drivers preferred (Manual only)
