Job summary

Potens is recruiting a Support Worker for our residential service in Port Talbot, Wales. You will provide 1-1 and occasionally 2-1 support to adults with learning disabilities, promoting wellbeing and independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 (and sometimes 2-1) support to young adults with learning disabilities.
• Promote positive wellbeing and enable participation in community and leisure activities.
• Support independence and life skills, including accessing community resources.
• Build strong relationships with people we support, their families, and external partners.
• Be flexible with shifts; participate in rota including days/evenings and possibly waking nights.

What you'll be doing:

• Currently, we have young adults with learning disabilities.
• You will be supporting 1-1 and at times 2-1.
• Continue to promote positive well-being.
• Participate and be as enthusiastic about their likes and wants as they are.
• Maintain and develop their community links, and access community and leisure pursuits to support their independent living and life skills.

• Personal care may be involved.

  Able to work independently, multitask, organise and prioritise work to suit the people we support.

• Exceptional at building relationships and influencing at all levels, internal and external.
• Ability to execute and deliver, whilst keeping a positive attitude under pressure
• Quick learner, hands‑on, willing to be flexible in tasks and activities.
• Flexible - shift will be on a rota basis and can include days/evenings and waking nights when required
• Drivers preferred (Manual only)
