Job summary

Potens Group is seeking a Support Worker at Parkside Lodge, a small residential service near Gateshead. You will provide personal care, emotional support, and community activity participation to adults with mental health needs.

We offer 40 hours per week, weekends and bank holidays included, a 2-week rolling rota, a contributory pension, wellbeing support, and funded learning opportunities from level 2 to level 5 NVQ in Health & Social Care, plus Care Certificate progression.

Qualifications

• Background in Mental Health preferred; training provided.
• Positive attitude and high motivation with ability to encourage independence.
• Flexible with a can do attitude and a real passion for helping others.
• Willing to participate in activities of the people supported.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and emotional support.
• Supporting with 1 to 1 hours.
• Supporting activities within the service and in the community.
• Medication support.
• Cleaning and household duties.
• Shifts from 8am–6pm, 10am–8pm and weekends 8am–8pm.
• Cover annual leave or extra hours when needed.

Parkside Lodge is a small residential service based in Bensham, close to Gateshead City Centre. Providing specialised support to 10 adults with mental health needs.

What you’ll be doing:

• Shifts would include 8 am to 6pm, 10 am to 8 pm and at weekends 8 am to 8 pm.
• You will also need to have the flexibility to cover annual leave or extra hours when needed.
