Job summary

Potens Group's Avondale Lodge in Redcar is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help residents with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. You will support daily living, encourage new skills, and help individuals stay valued in their community.

Here at Avondale Lodge in Redcar, we support residents who have a range of needs such as autism, mental health needs, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Our aim is to assist them in their daily lives to develop new life skills, achieve their ambitions and goals, and for them to continue to be valued members of the community.

  • 30 hours per week. Shifts will include days, long days, and evenings.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Full flexibility is needed, and you must be able to coverallof the following shifts as part of the rota-7:30 am to 4 pm, 8 am to 9 pm, 9 am to 3 pm, and 4 pm to 9 pm.
  • Will involve working weekends and bank holidays. You will also be available to work waking nights and sleep‑ins when required to cover annual leave.
  • You will work as part of a team, ensuring a safe and caring, supportive environment is maintained, which meets the individual and group needs of the people that live with us.
  • Supporting activities within the service and supporting to access the community.
  • The role will involve assisting with personal care, domestic support, preparing meals, updating our internal systems, and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and monthly reports.

Who you are:

  • The role requires a motivated and creative individual.
  • The successful candidate will have the aptitude, desire, and commitment to work in social care with adults with a variety of needs.
  • Experience working in a social care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism is preferred, but not essential.
  • Full flexibility is needed.
