Job summary

CYGNET is seeking confident Support Workers to contribute to high-quality care at Oaklands in Hexham, Northumberland. You will work 24, 36 or 42 hours per week across days, nights, and alternate weekends, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs in a specialist residential setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care, teamwork, and ongoing professional development through our apprenticeship scheme and coaching.

• Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
• Able to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Support management and team in day-to-day running of the service.
• Allocate duties safely and effectively.
• Provide enhanced care with a flexible learning approach.
• Offer guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
• Learn about individuals’ needs and provide appropriate help.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs and report as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all.
