Job summary

A consultancy firm in the West Midlands is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer on a 12 month rolling contract. The role requires technical training in engineering, extensive knowledge in quality management systems, and familiarity with manufacturing processes. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple investigations. The position requires in-office presence at least 3 days a week and involves travel to suppliers up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects.
  • Experience working with critical parts (complex parts such as disc, shaft, complex assemblies).

Responsibilities

  • Project manage product and process qualifications from beginning to end.
  • Work with design engineering to ensure manufacturable parts.
  • Travel to suppliers up to 50%.

Role Summary

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer on a 12 month rolling contract based in West Midlands.

Required Qualifications
  • Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable
  • Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously
  • Self‑motivated attitude and ownership of projects
  • Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability
  • Experience working with or at manufacturing facilities
  • Experience working with critical parts (complex parts such as disc, shaft, complex assemblies)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • SAP experience
Working Requirements
  • In office presence – 3 days min per week
  • No legal travel regulations
  • Travel to suppliers up to 50%
