Job Description

Baxterstorey is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Barista to join our team in Woking, United Kingdom. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting delicious coffee beverages and providing an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, using high‑quality ingredients and proper techniques
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other brewing equipment
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, greeting customers and taking orders with a smile
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and operate point‑of‑sale systems
  • Educate customers about our coffee products, including bean origins and flavor profiles
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed
  • Create visually appealing latte art to enhance the customer experience
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
  • Assist in overseeing all day to day functions
  • Willing to learn and develop for your next move
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in coffee preparation techniques and ability to craft high‑quality espresso-based beverages
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in cash handling
  • Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods preferred
  • Food safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a clean work environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous barista experience preferred but not required
  • Food handling certification is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
