Job Description

ESU 7 has an ongoing need for a Substitute Paraprofessional. This will be an on‑call and as‑needed position, typically for a 6‑hour workday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at $20 per hour.

Applicants will be working with students with disabilities ranging from cognitive to behavioral.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma

  • Ability to work with a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs (preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Follow the specific directions given by the supervising teacher when working with students.
  • Maintain positive communication at all times when conducting ESU 7 business or representing ESU 7.
  • Support students to develop independent life skills.
  • Meal preparation (menu development, shopping, meal preparation, and clean up).
  • Support and accompany students on job sites.
  • Support students in job preparation (uniforms, IDs, hygiene, skills needed).
  • Complete job site work journal/evaluation.
  • Maintain and submit one‑on‑one student hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents within all districts served.
  • Adhere to all ESU 7 policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ESU 7 Chief Administrator or designee.
