Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Designer to support the preparation of electrical drawings, layouts, and documentation for medium voltage substation projects. Working under senior engineers and designers, you will contribute to the delivery of accurate and high-quality design outputs.

Key responsibilities include drafting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts, assisting with routing and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring designs meet project

Qualifications

• Essential: HNC/HND, Diploma, Associate Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other design software
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and substation secondary systems
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under supervision

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical drawings for substation secondary systems, including protection, control, and communication systems
• Produce wiring diagrams, cable schedules, block diagrams, and equipment layouts
• Assist with cable routing, trench layouts, and equipment arrangement drawings
• Update and revise drawings according to project requirements and engineering comments
• Support the preparation of technical documentation for secondary systems
• Contribute to design coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain drawing registers and revision records
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback
