Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting Electrical Engineers at Senior/Principal level to support the Energy unit across 11kV/33kV switchgear and renewables. You will lead electrical designs, provide technical leadership, and manage projects from inception through delivery, working within hybrid teams and across multiple offices.

The role emphasizes client-focused design, bid support, and mentoring junior staff, with travel across the UK and overseas as needed.

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer with a relevant professional qualification.
• Proven experience in electrical project engineering for LV to 33 kV.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports and specifications.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and bid procedures.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Lead site surveys and prepare tender specifications, calculations, designs and drawings.
• Deliver electrical designs for 11kV/33kV switchgear and renewables connections.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff and graduates.
• Ensure deliverables meet client scope, regulatory standards, and budgets.
• Support bids, proposals, and project planning across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project goals.
