Overview

Structural Engineer – Iron & Steel Plants

Purpose: Design and analyse safe, sustainable, and cost-effective structures for iron and steel facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and review technical documentation (drawings, specs, calculations, manuals).
  • Act as the structural lead on projects, ensuring technical integrity and commercial viability.
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct structural calculations and review civil engineering aspects.
  • Oversee manufacturing, testing, and installation of structures.
  • Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments.
  • Advise on construction methodologies and best practices.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong grasp of heavy industry turnkey projects.
  • Proficient in structural design and calculations (MathCAD/Excel).
  • Basic CAD skills (Autodesk preferred); advanced 3D CAD is a plus.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years in industrial structural engineering.
