Durham County Council is seeking a Principal Surveyor to join the Strategic Property Management team. The role involves proactive management of the estate, leading on estate matters, transactions and major capital projects to optimise the portfolio.

You will supervise surveyors, conduct valuations, and drive property strategies while coordinating with consultants and internal teams to deliver council objectives.

Competenze

• MRICS membership with evidence of CPD.
• Experience in property management including estate management, acquisitions, disposals and landlord/tenant matters.
• Strong knowledge of property and strategic asset management with negotiation and communication skills.

Mansioni

• Supervise and direct the work of Surveyors and Senior Surveyors.
• Lead on acquisition and disposal of land and property interests from instruction to completion.
• Manage income-generating portfolio including leases, tenancy agreements, inspections and landlord/tenant matters.
• Complete and sign off valuations, including market and capital accounting valuations.
• Lead on major capital projects and develop property strategies and asset management plans.
• Identify opportunities to optimise land and property use and reduce costs.
• Manage complex projects and oversee external consultants and agents.
