Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an experienced Principal Surveyor to join the Strategic Property Management team. The role involves proactive management of the estate, leading on estate management matters, property transactions, capital projects and complex property-related initiatives.

You will supervise surveyors, lead on acquisitions/disposals, manage income-generating portfolios, and oversee valuations and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying/related field required.
• MRICS membership with CPD evidence required.
• Experience in property management, estate management, acquisitions, disposals, valuations and landlord/tenant matters.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of Surveyors and Senior Surveyors.
• Lead on acquisition and disposal of land and property interests from instruction to completion.
• Manage income-generating portfolio including leases, tenancy agreements, inspections, landlord and tenant matters.

Education

Degree in surveying/architecture/estate management
