Job summary

Bestway Wholesale Limited is seeking a Category Manager to drive category plans for Bestway Foodservice and Caterers, focusing on maximising sales and profit. You will manage ranging, pricing, strategy development, supplier partnerships and promotional planning while mentoring Category Assistants.

You will lead category strategy, negotiate supplier income for promotions, and oversee cross-functional activities to meet financial targets, with a focus on comparable performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FMCG Wholesale or Foodservice sector (Buying Sales or Category Management).
• Confident in tenacity, determination and assertiveness for commercially successful outcomes.
• Ability to build internal and external relationships with influencing skills.
• Strong negotiator with experience in category strategy and promotions.
• Numerate with ability to analyse performance and market data.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities support achievement and delivery of budget for sales, wholesale margin and cash profit.
• Maximise product availability across categories through sound commercial reasoning.
• Collaborate with suppliers to generate Joint Business Plans.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Create and implement category strategy and plans to meet financial targets.
• Negotiate income from suppliers for media promotions and initiatives.
• Ranging and pricing of products in line with pricing policy and strategy.
• Plan and communicate requirements for seasonal promotions and corporate initiatives.
