Bestway Wholesale Limited is seeking a Category Manager to deliver category plans that maximise sales and profit for Bestway Foodservice and Caterers. The role covers ranging, pricing, strategy development, supplier management, and promotional planning.

You will mentor Category Assistants, manage category activities, and work with suppliers to create Joint Business Plans while aligning with the business strategy.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FMCG Wholesale or Foodservice (Buying, Sales or Category Management).
• Tenacity, determination and assertiveness to achieve a commercially successful outcome.
• Ability to build relationships using effective influencing skills.
• Strong negotiator with proven negotiation skills.
• Experience creating and delivering Category Strategy and promotional plans.
• Numerate with experience of analysing performance and market data.
• Problem solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities and decisions support budgeted sales, wholesale margin and cash profit.
• Maximise product availability across categories through sound commercial reasoning.
• Collaborate with suppliers to generate Joint Business Plans.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Create and implement Category strategy and plans to meet financial targets.
• Negotiate income from suppliers for media promotions and initiatives.
• Ranging and pricing in line with current pricing policy and strategy.
• Plan and communicate requirements for seasonal promotions and corporate initiatives.
• Range management and development, including gap analysis and price proposition.
• Define and manage Own Brand strategy for a balanced range.
• Ensure category admin is completed accurately and on time.
• Analyse promotional effectiveness and forecasts for categories.
