Job summary

Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a fast‑growing PE-backed business based in Chester to appoint a Financial Controller who will act as the CFO's right hand and drive improvements across controls and processes.

You will lead a small accounts team, oversee month‑end and board reporting, and build robust financial models to support strategic decision‑making. Hybrid working is available, with a 37.5 hour week and strong career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analytical and technically proficient with detailed reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead on technical accounting and month end, providing information for investors.
• Manage a small accounts team and support career development.
• Review and enhance financial controls and processes, building a roadmap for improvement.
• Oversee payments, cash collection, and transactional finance management.
• Lead monthly management accounts and guide junior staff.
• Prepare board pack and month end reporting.
• Lead revenue recognition to improve automation of reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models in Excel for planning.
• Own cash flow forecasting and improve cash position modelling.
• Liaise with banks, auditors and tax advisors and lead annual audits.
