Job summary

Finatal in Cheshire, a high-growth Private Equity-backed SaaS and consulting business, seeks a Group Financial Controller to act as the CFO's number two. This role leads the finance function and shapes financial infrastructure for scalable growth.

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will drive financial control, reporting, and planning, while partnering with PE investors and senior leadership to create value and prepare for an eventual exit.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent required.
• Experience in a high-growth, acquisitive or change-driven environment preferred.
• Experience in Private Equity-backed businesses or PE-style environments desirable.
• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting and controllership experience required.
• Demonstrated people leadership and ability to develop a finance team.
• Commercial acumen and ability to partner with senior non-finance stakeholders.
• Comfort with evolving processes and structures in a fast-growth business.
• SaaS, Technology, Consulting or Professional Services exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the CFO's right hand, providing commercial and financial insight across the Group.
• Lead, develop and motivate the wider finance team, building a high-performance culture.
• Own the Group's financial control environment, reporting and accounting processes.
• Raise standards of the finance function to meet PE-backed, high-growth expectations.
• Drive improvements across systems, processes, controls and reporting as the Group scales.
• Support integration of acquired businesses with consistent financial processes.
• Collaborate with the CFO on Board reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Partner with senior unit leaders to provide insight and challenge to the business.
• Provide timely, accurate financial information to support decisions.
• Help develop the finance function and wider business for future exit.
