Job summary

Hayley Group's Kent branch is hiring a Stores Assistant to keep warehouse operations running smoothly and support engineering customers across the region. This varied role covers goods in/out, picking, packing, stock checks, occasional deliveries to local customers and replenishing vending machines at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehouse or goods in/out required.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking and putting away stock
• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and stock takes
• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
• Occasional deliveries to local customers
• Visiting customer sites to replenish vending machines
• Building relationships with customers and delivering excellent service
• Supporting the wider branch team with day-to-day operations

We're looking for a Stores Assistant to join our Kent branch. As part of a leading supplier of engineering components, industrial consumables and maintenance products, you'll play a key role in keeping our warehouse operations running smoothly while supporting our engineering customers across the region.

About the Stores Assistant role:

This is a varied and fast-paced role. One day you'll be managing goods in and goods out, the next you'll be delivering products to customers or visiting engineering and industrial sites to replenish our vending machines and ensure customers have the products they need to keep their operations moving.

Key responsibilities include:

• Receiving, checking and putting away stock
• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and supporting stock takes
• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
• Making occasional deliveries to local engineering and industrial customers
• Visiting customer sites to replenish and manage our vending machines
• Building strong relationships with customers and delivering excellent service
• Supporting the wider branch team with day-to-day operations

What we’re looking for in our Stores Assistant:

• A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved
• Previous stores, warehouse or goods in/out experience
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Experience within an engineering, industrial or trade environment would be advantageous
