Job summary

Morson is seeking a Stores Assistant in Oxford on a full-time, on-site basis. You will support an aircraft maintenance operation by ensuring parts, tools, materials and consumables are available when required.

Daily duties include staging and delivering items to engineers, organising project kits, logging tools, and maintaining safe, clean work areas with rigorous FOD control. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High awareness of tool accountability and FOD control.
  • Clear communication with engineers, stores personnel and supervisors.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 23kg.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, stage and deliver parts, consumables, hardware and tools to engineers in active bays.
  • Organise project kits and ensure hardware packages are allocated correctly.
  • Return specialist tools to the tool crib and log them accurately.
  • Liaise between parts stores, tool room and bays to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and conduct regular FOD checks.
  • Dispose of waste and hazardous materials per safety procedures.
  • Clean and maintain support equipment and PPE.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Stores Assistant

Location: Oxford – Full-time on site
Rate: £13.63 per hour PAYE / £18.23 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 6 months initially, with likely extension
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (40 hours per week)
Interview: Virtual interview
Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Morson are currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant to support an established aircraft maintenance operation in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in a warehouse, stores, industrial, automotive or aviation environment. Entry-level candidates with strong organisational skills and the right attitude will also be considered.

What does the role look like?

Working within an active aircraft maintenance environment, you will provide essential support to engineering teams by ensuring parts, tools, materials and consumables are available when required.

You will also help maintain high standards of housekeeping, tool accountability and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control across the maintenance bays.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
  • Gather, stage and deliver parts, consumables, hardware and tools to engineers working in active maintenance bays.
  • Organise project kits and ensure hardware packages are complete and allocated to the correct bay or aircraft project.
  • Return specialist tools to the tool crib and ensure they are correctly logged.
  • Liaise between the parts stores, tool room and active maintenance bays to minimise engineer downtime.
  • Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas, including benches, shadow boards and tool carts.
  • Regularly inspect and remove Foreign Object Debris (FOD) from working areas.
  • Dispose of waste, scrap materials and hazardous consumables in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
  • Clean and maintain support equipment such as ladders, maintenance stands and ground power units.
  • Follow all relevant safety procedures and PPE requirements.
