Hayley Dexis is seeking an enthusiastic Stores Assistant for our Kirkby Thore site. This varied, hands-on role supports stock management, customer service, purchasing activities and continuous improvement projects, with a positive, flexible attitude.

We’re excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic Stores Assistant with strong customer service skills to be based at our customer site in Kirkby Thore.

About the Stores Assistant role:

This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in ensuring our stores operation runs smoothly, supporting stock management, customer service, purchasing activities, and continuous improvement projects. We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. Everyone mucks in here, so a positive, flexible attitude is essential.

There is flexibility with the hours for this role. We can offer a minimum of 24 hours per week up to a maximum of 40, depending on what you’re looking for.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Receiving deliveries, checking goods, and booking stock into the system
• Managing stock levels and supporting effective inventory control
• Assisting with stock takes and maintaining accurate stock records
• Supporting stock reduction and continuous improvement projects
• Identifying obsolete or slow‑moving stock and helping to reduce excess inventory
• Preparing and sending quotations to the customer
• Providing excellent customer service, both over the phone and at the trade counter
• Supporting the wider team with day‑to‑day stores and administration activities

What we’re looking for in our Stores Assistant:

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, stock control, or customer service environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicating with customers and colleagues at all levels
• Comfortable using computer systems for order processing and stock management
• A proactive approach and willingness to support the team wherever needed
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced environment
