Purpose of the Role

To provide support, maintain and improve the logistics, kitting, stock and lifing functions within the car area/s as specified by the Logistics Manager. Ensuring stringent UIIL compliance via accurate stock control, correct build and kitting practices. Maintaining service routines, components and assemblies are fit for use, lifing information kept up to date. Supply components and assemblies in line with the schedule and timings as dictated by the race and test event calendar and/or build requirements.

This role will be primarily aligned to the Gearbox, Sub Assembly and Hydraulics areas but will also include wider responsibilities within the logistics and lifing functions.

Role Dimensions

The position will involve unsociable hours and some weekend work and may also involve event attendance and overseas travel. You will collaborate closely with the Project Management team and build functions to ensure parts are supplied to meet production, development and the wider race and test schedule.

You will work closely with the wider logistics function ensuring standard practices across all departments. You will support all incoming and outgoing shipments to race and test events.

On occasion, you may also be required to support in areas outside of the current car model, including but not exclusive to; TPC and Heritage teams.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Ensuring stringent UIIL compliance via accurate stock control and kitting practices
  • Ensuring correct transaction, service requirements and routing of components and assemblies through the service function, to guarantee they are shipped and fit for purpose for each event and allocated accordingly
  • Manage parts supply to events or build
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic departmental stock records.
  • Ensure maintenance and accuracy of the lifing system
  • Supply kitting support of sub-components for assemblies in line with department requirements, ensuring accuracy of stock booking are maintained
  • Ensure post event SRR and compliance to the Lifing Program
  • Manage stock to correct issue
  • Liaise with the Project Management team on shortages and reorder points
  • Be the point of contact for Race Team requests from trackside that fall within the Hydraulics, Gearbox and Sub Assembly functions
  • Improve department adherence to process and procedures and align to business needs
  • Engage in the creation, planning and delivery of the department and wider business continuous improvement activities
  • Support packing and unpacking of shipments to and from race and test events, working to the strict deadlines as outlined by the logistics manager or team leader

  • Has participated in a Motorsport based team-oriented environment
  • Experience of managing complex motorsport parts and assemblies on demanding timescales
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and digital systems, to drive process improvements regarding digital build and lifing management
  • Ability to interpret engineering specification drawings and BOM data
  • Excels at cross-function planning
