HRGO Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Store Manager for a busy Stoke-on-Trent store. The role focuses on leading a sales-focused team, driving store performance and delivering excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, experienced in retail management and able to coach and develop staff to achieve targets while maintaining store standards and promotions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Retail Store Manager or similar - essential.

HRGO Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established retail business for an experienced Store Manager to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who is sales-focused, commercially minded and confident leading a team. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, drive sales against targets and KPIs, coach your team and ensure customers receive an excellent level of service.

Experience in carpets, flooring, beds or home furnishings would be beneficial, but strong retail management experience from other sales-focused environments will also be considered.

The Role

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the store, leading your team and driving sales.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the store
• Leading, motivating and coaching the sales team
• Driving store sales and achieving targets and KPIs
• Leading from the front and actively selling on the shop floor
• Coaching team members to improve sales performance
• Creating a positive and competitive sales environment
• Delivering consistently high levels of customer service
• Dealing with customer queries and resolving issues professionally
• Managing staff rotas, holidays and staffing levels
• Identifying training and development requirements
• Monitoring sales performance and identifying opportunities to increase revenue
• Maintaining high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
• Ensuring stock levels and records are accurate
• Monitoring outstanding orders, balances and business performance
• Ensuring company sales and administration procedures are followed
• Maintaining store security and company procedures
• Ensuring promotional material, tickets and point-of-sale displays are maintained correctly
• Coordinating independent fitter schedules
• Monitoring the quality and standards of fitter work
• Supporting the wider business with operational requirements

About You

We're looking for a confident and commercially focused Retail Store Manager who enjoys working towards targets and getting the best from a sales team.

You'll need:

• Previous experience as a Retail Store Manager or similar - essential
• Experience managing, motivating and developing a sales team
• Proven experience working towards sales targets and KPIs
• Strong understanding of the retail sales process
• Experience in a target-driven sales environment
• Strong leadership and coaching skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good commercial awareness
• A confident and professional approach
• A proactive, positive and self-motivated attitude
• The ability to lead by example and take ownership
• Good organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and make decisions
• Flexibility to work 40 hours per week, including weekends
• Full UK driving licence preferred

Experience within carpets, flooring, beds, furniture or home furnishings would be advantageous but is not essential.
