Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Entry‑Level STEM Coordinator to join the LFC Foundation. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths who wants to inspire young people through creative, hands‑on learning.
You do not need to be an expert, just passionate, willing to learn, and confident working with children and young people. You will receive one month of shadowing, full training, and ongoing wrap‑around support from the STEM Programme Manager before gradually moving into independent delivery.
The role focuses mainly on supporting and delivering engaging STEM sessions in Primary and Secondary schools, alongside contributing to community outreach, events, and project development always with guidance and structured professional development.

The Role
  • Delivery & Session Support
    • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of fun, age‑appropriate STEM activities across Primary/Secondary schools and community settings.
    • Shadow experienced staff for the first month, gradually taking on standalone delivery as confidence grows.
    • Deliver sessions using LFC Foundation resources, kits, and guidance provided.
    • Help create simple, engaging teaching and learning resources (training provided).
  • Programme & Outreach Support
    • Support community outreach, STEM fairs, festivals, and partner events.
    • Work with school staff to ensure activities are inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all pupils.
    • Assist with developing and updating programme content in line with new trends and best practice (with support).
    • Support the development of the Secondary STEM offer, including contributing to qualifications/awards under guidance from the Programme Manager.
  • Quality, Safety & Organisation
    • Help maintain STEM equipment and ensure sessions follow all health and safety and safeguarding requirements.
    • Complete basic risk assessments for sessions (training provided).
    • Ensure delivery is inclusive and promotes equality, diversity, and respect.
    • Support the collection of participation data, feedback, and simple monitoring information to evidence impact.
    • Record delivery using LFC Foundation systems and share summary feedback with schools (with support).
  • Team Collaboration & Promotion
    • Contribute to team planning sessions and programme evaluation.
    • Assist with producing case studies and identifying PR opportunities.
    • Provide occasional content for LFC Foundation social media and communications.
    • Represent the Foundation positively at school and community events.
    • Undertake other reasonable duties relevant to the role.
Who are we looking for?
  • Essential
    • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, tutoring, clubs, mentoring, coaching, etc.).
    • Formal or informal experience/qualification in a STEM‑related area.
    • Strong interest in STEM subjects and practical, hands‑on learning.
    • Confident presenting to groups of young people.
    • Good communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to use initiative while being open to support and guidance.
    • Willingness to learn, train, and grow within the role.
  • Desirable
    • Knowledge of lesson planning or curriculum‑linked learning.
    • Experience delivering activities, workshops, coaching or youth engagement sessions.
    • Understanding of the National Curriculum.
    • Basic experience organising events or supporting project delivery.
