Job Description:

Join GM's Motorsports Software team as a Staff Software Engineer, focusing on aerodynamics systems design and cloud-based software solutions for racing teams. Lead development, architecture, and delivery of innovative motorsports IT software, supporting GM's NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA teams.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team in implementing GM Motorsports aero-thermal applications, including CFD modeling and visualization.
  2. Design solution architectures and lead team consensus on technical solutions.
  3. Develop modern, modular application designs that integrate loosely connected systems.
  4. Collaborate with the aerodynamics team to identify and fill value gaps with effective solutions.
  5. Remove technical blockers and ensure smooth project delivery milestones.
  6. Deliver Scrum stories and manage implementation architectures, interfaces, testing, and deployment.
  7. Support team collaboration and maintain self-managed delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Expertise in CFD systems, microservices, or data streaming platforms.
  • Experience in full stack application development and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • At least 5 years in microservices development and 2 years in web services design.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience in aerodynamics engineering, AI & ML, VR frameworks, data streaming tech, and cross-platform optimization.
  • Leadership and architecture experience, knowledge of data serialization, and passion for motorsports.
Additional Details:

Position may include relocation benefits. The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence up to 3 days/week at Charlotte or Austin centers. Company vehicle program eligibility is subject to review.
