Job summary

CNTW NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Staff Nurse for Alwinton, a medium-secure inpatient service for men with learning disabilities. You will work within the nursing team and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver compassionate, person-centred care and support patients toward recovery.

You will manage assessments, risk, care plans and medications, promote positive behaviour support, and help patients progress through their care pathway while maintaining safe ward practices and accurate

Qualifications

• Experience with service users with complex mental health/learning disability needs.
• Post-registration clinical practice in a relevant setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care for patients with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Build therapeutic relationships while promoting dignity, respect, choice and recovery.
• Complete and review clinical assessments, risks and care plans as needs change.
• Monitor mental and physical health and escalate concerns promptly.
• Administer medication safely following Trust policies and standards.
• Contribute to duty shifts and coordinate care with the team and carers.
