Job summary

CNTW NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Nurse Lead to provide clinical leadership and support the Ward Manager in Alwinton Ward, a secure inpatient service for men with learning disabilities.

You will lead evidence-based, person-centred care, supervise nursing staff, and ensure robust risk management and safeguarding practices within a medium-secure setting. The role focuses on recovery, dignity and least-restrictive practice within the team.

Qualifications

• Clinical leadership and role modelling for nursing staff.
• Oversight of care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding.
• Promotion of person-centred, evidence-based care and recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support the Ward Manager in day-to-day operational and clinical management.
• Lead assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person-centred care for patients with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments and positive behaviour support plans are current and followed.
• Monitor clinical risks, review incidents and promote learning and preventative action.
• Supervise, support and develop nursing staff, including supervision and appraisal.
• Promote safe medication management and health monitoring within a secure environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families and external agencies to progress care pathways.
