Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking an experienced Senior/Staff GCP Security Engineer to own security foundations in our Google Cloud environment. You will work with Information Security, Infrastructure and Technology teams to design, build and automate security controls, ensuring secure access and continuous compliance across growing environments.

Qualifications

• Mature understanding of cloud security architecture with deep GCP expertise.
• Experience creating a GCP landing zone and configuring IAM, VPC Service Controls.
• Proven track record securing GKE clusters and Kubernetes meshes.
• Strong scripting in Python or related languages for automation.
• Experience with PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and security compliance basics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to define Google Cloud security architecture and controls.
• Design, document and build secure, scalable GCP infrastructure with IaC.
• Ensure secure user access, authentication and authorization across systems.
• Automate security controls in GCP and demonstrate continuous compliance.
• Lead incident response and drive remediation of security breaches.
• Support security awareness and DevSecOps initiatives across teams.
