Job summary

Dex is seeking a Staff-level, full-stack engineer to join a partner company and help shape the DevEx vision. You will lead five engineers, own architecture for customer-facing web apps, and drive the integration of AI tools to multiply velocity.

You will report to the CTO and set technical direction, balancing hands-on work with people management, ensuring we deliver robust experiences for developers across analytics, docs, marketing, sign-up, and billing surfaces.

Qualifications

• Must have proven backend experience with Rails or Node.js.
• Ability to lead a small engineering team and shape technical direction.
• Experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows to raise velocity.
• Excellent empathy for developer customers, API design, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five full-stack engineers with technical and people leadership.
• Own end-to-end architecture for all customer-facing web apps: analytics, docs, marketing site, sign-up, billing.
• Drive AI adoption to significantly boost team productivity and velocity.
• Set standards for engineering excellence in code review, testing, and incident response.
• Collaborate with SDK and real-time infra teams to ensure a cohesive developer experience.
